FY22 Proposed Maximum Property Tax Levy

Public Hearing set for Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 7 PM

City Council will hold its first public hearing on the Proposed Maximum Property Tax Levy for Fiscal Year 2022. This is done in accordance with the Senate File 634 that was adopted last year by the Iowa Legislature. The council may not increase the city tax rate* from this proposed levy rate after its adoption, so this is a maximum for these levies prior to the adopting of the final budget.  The next public hearing will be held on March 24, 2021 that will present the actual proposed city tax rate prior to the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2022 Budget.

*The total city tax rate will also include voted general fund levy, debt service levy, and capital improvement reserve levy
